Day 1-  International flight, Antananarivo:

Upon arrival at Antananarivo airport, you will be greeted by our agent and shuttled directly to your hotel after all formalities and currency changes. Our local currency is Ariary (1 USD is around 3 700 ariary and better to do it right upon arrival in order to have the best rate. Guests can also draw money from ATM BY the way)

Day 2- Antananarivo

After breakfast, the accompanying guide will take you to visit first the typical village of Sarimanina, through this, you will learn how basically this tribe lives their daily life, how they are structured in their community, and what they are doing to gain their life. Lunch at the lodge and then we will be taken to visit the school, this time will be dedicated to supporting the school and especially sharing unique and special times with the local kids. This day will be ended with a folklore show with the local people we have visited.  overnight at Ecole Lodge Antananarivo on HB

The distance of the walk from the lodge, to the village, and the viewpoint will be 3 km, and the total walk will take a total of 2 hours. Then 1.5 km to the school and the path is mixed of rice fields, normal roads, grasses, and a small forest. Good for pictures as well

 

Day 3- Antananarivo to Andasibe: 140 km

After breakfast, drive eastward to Andasibe. After busy Tana, you will start to enjoy the different sceneries and the different stops on the way will allow you to discover more about culture, nature, and local people. Around lunchtime, you will be in Moramanga then continue slowly to your hotel. At the beginning of the evening start the Nocturnal walk to meet the nocturnal animals such as the Mouse lemur, frogs, and different types of strange insects and amphibians.

Day 4- Visit Andasibe National Park:

Early in the morning, after breakfast you’ll visit first the National park of Andasibe, to meet the Indri-indri which is the biggest lemur in the world, and some other species of fauna such as birds, after lunch, we will take you to visit the private reserve of Vakona (in this private reserve, animals are not in their natural habitat, the main reasons of the visit will be supporting this project indirectly to creating jobs, added value on the local community and especially preserving the natures against illegal exploitation.

The Andasibe national park walk will take about 4 hours and about 4 to 5 km in the forest, and marsh, it will have a denivelation of 40%. The Vakona reserve will be 2 km in total and might take of 2hrs as time for the duration

 

Day 5- Andasibe to Antananarivo (140km)

Breakfast at the hotel, then continuation back to the capital, long of the way we will visit the city and its interesting places such as; independence avenue, the Queen’s Palace, and the famous Analakely Market. End of the afternoon, check in at the hotel. Overnight at Meva Guest House on HB.

 

Day 6- Antananarivo – Morondava – Kirindy (1.30h flight TZ712 + 60km)

After breakfast, brief about the tour and then transfer to the airport for your flight to Morondava from 12:00 - 13:10. Arrived there drive directly to Kirindy. There, you can admire all kinds of the flora of the west like baobab species (Adansonia grandidieri, Adansonia rubrostipa, and Adansonia za). In the evening, be ready with your flashlight for a night’s walk. Overnight at Relais du Kirindy on HB or similar


Day 7: Monday, 10th April: Kirindy to Tsingy of Bemaraha (150km)

Early morning you will have a visit in the Kirindy Forest where you can see many species of reptiles, lemurs, birds… and especially the famous “Fosa” or “Cryptoprocta ferox” which is an endemic animal in Madagascar. After the visit continuation to Bekopaka long of the real off-road. Crossing rivers of Tsiribihina and Manambolo River. End of the afternoon you will arrive at Bekopaka. Day 8- Vist at the Tsingy of Bemaraha

This day is dedicated to exploring the giant tsingy with its amazing nature through the Karstik rock formation.

The Tsingy de Bemaraha is among the most wonderful National Park to be visited in Madagascar. This is the biggest protected area of the island and is classified as a Natural

World Heritage by UNESCOs. Among the most spectacular sites to be visited in this park is the Grand Tsingy with its different hikes and walks through caves and labyrinths. In the forest canyons, the Tsingy de Bemaraha has its endemic species among the Madagascar wildlife: the Decken’s Sifakas, the Schlegel’s Asity, the local endemic nocturnal mouse Lemurs: the Pygmy mouse Lemurs (Microcebus Myoxinus)… Overnight at Olympe de Bemaraha on HB or similar

 

Day 9- Tsingy of Bemaraha to Morondava (200 km)

After breakfast, start to drive to Morondava, on route Stops at the sacred baobabs and the baobabs alley for the unforgettable sunset. Drive to the hotel afterward.

Day 10- Morondava – Antsirabe (485 km)

After breakfast, start the drive to reach the highland, with several stops on the way to enjoy the beautiful landscapes. Passing by at the crater lake of Tritriva if the time allows.

Day 11- Antsirabe – Ranomafana: 240 km

After breakfast, we will do a city tour of Antsirabe, which is one of the thermal cities of Madagascar, and preserve a different environment to be explored. The local guide might propose to you try the rickshaw ride through the city and between the craft shops that we will visit before driving through the Tapia Forest which is an endemic tree of this area. Short visit to Ambositra, A well-known town where woodcarvers perform incredible shows. At the end of the afternoon, a night walk to see night active animals is programmed.

Day 12-Ranomafana National Park

Visit Ranomafana NP, in where some species of lemurs such as bamboo lemurs, Edward’s Sifaka, and birds live. In the afternoon visit the Sahamalaotra forest part to discover more endemic species of the area.

The morning part will be 4 hours in the rain forest, with a denivelation of 45%, and will be about 3km of walk. The afternoon will be a total hike of 1hr on the rice field and marsh in order to find specific birds, the evening walk will be of 2 hours and on the forest side an easy path of 2 km maximum

 

Day 13-Ranomafana – Isalo: 310 km

After breakfast, the guide will accompany you to visit the typical village of the Tanala tribe in Ranomafana, through the visits, you will learn more about their culture, lifestyle… Drive through a hilly landscape, first in Fianarantsoa a very catholic city, then Ambalavao, a very best-known winery town, and the last town on the highlands. Out of 60km, we will visit the Anja Reserve, in this local run community you will meet herds of ring-tailed lemurs so close by. The hike you will do through Lila s forest will give you the impression of walking in the deep dry deciduous forest of Madagascar, after that Continuation to Ranohira.

At Anja reserve, the visit will take 1 or 2 hours, with a total distance of 3km on dry forest, rocks

 

Day 14- Isalo National Park

Visit Isalo NP, one of the largest parks in Madagascar, it spreads over 81 540 ha. The massive itself is a plateau of continental sandstone dating from the Jurassic era. Very much eroded, only the parceled witnessed by the sandy valleys and the canyons: a really exceptional show. Among of the visits on this day is to learn the Bara culture, this is the 5th tribe that you will visit through this adventure, at the end of the afternoon, if time allows the guide will not miss to take you to the famous ruiniform massif presenting a window called ‘’ Fenetre de l Isalo “in French. At this national park, 3km on foot passing by Bara tomb, Tapia forest the botanical garden, and arriving at the Natural swimming pool, the duration will be 1 and a half to 2 hours including all the stops. Then from the natural swimming pool to Namazaha 4 km through the step and savanna with a descent of 30% it will take 2hrs, after lunch 300 m to the Piscine noir and blue then walk to the parking 2 km on a normal path

 

Day 15- Isalo – Tulear- Ifaty: 280km

Drive to Tulear throughout the southeastern landscape. On the way visit of Zombitse National Park for its endemic fauna and flora especially the appears birds and Baobabs on the way, Arrival in Tulear around lunchtime at Arboretum where typical nature will wait for you, then Continuation northward on a sandy and bumpy road partially

Day 16- stay in Ifaty:

Morning of the first day, you will be guided to the Spiny Forest of Reniala in order to discover the secret of the spiny forest. During this walk, you will cross a lot of types of Baobabs, tortoises, birds, and the beautiful facets of the Didieracea and Euphorbia plants. In the afternoon, time to do your own program or relax.

Day 17-Stay in Ifaty:

After breakfast, we will take you to discover the color-full village of the VEZO fishermen, this is an occasion to encounter their way of living, to try their pirogue, and profit the ride back to the hotel. In the afternoon, relax at the beach and enjoy at last the beautiful coastal land of Ifaty. Overnight at Bamboo club on HB

 

Day 18-  Ifaty – Tulear – Tana: 30km + 1hr of flight TZ719

Drive back to Tulear to take the flight back to Tana with the flight scheduled at 14:35- 16:25. Upon arrival in the capital, a city tour is planned already with the combination of other projects, the sacred hill, and a drive to your hotel.

Day 19- Tana – Out

This is your last day before heading back to your country; our team will accompany you to the craft market After all the preparation at your hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight.
